The first european film forum - 2008
retrospect
In March 2008, the first "co-produced | European Film Forum" took place in Halle. 20 film-makers from three countries (Germany, Poland, Spain) came to Halle to produce short films together. The forum was oranised by a group of students of the Department of Media and Communication, at Halle University. It was supported by the financial subsidies of the EU-programme "Youth in Action" and the"Kulturstiftung" Saxony-Anhalt. Surprisingly the forum became a big success.
The film "Sick of it" by Tomasz Banisch, Oliver Stanislowski, Sebastian Nolting and Michael Stenzel was shown on several short film festivals in Poland and won the Distinction Award of the 14th Summer Festival in Warsaw. The film "Tutaj niemand no conoces" was used as illustrative material and for publicity. Jim Kambeitz, one of the film-makers of “Tutaj niemand no conoces†describes his experiences during the forum as: "It was magic". The organisers also received awards. The "European International Youth Movement" marked it as "European contribution of the year" (http://www.jeb-bb.de/index.php?id=8249).
